Florida Father Charged With Murdering His 2-year-old Son's Mother

On Saturday, the Florida man who is accused of killing a 20-year-old woman and their 2-year-old son went to court for the first time.

Online records show that 2-year-old Taylen Mosley’s body was found in an alligator’s mouth at a lake 15 minutes from the apartment where his mother, Pashun Jeffrey, was found stabbed to death. This led to 21-year-old Thomas Mosley being charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

“Pinellas Circuit Judge Patrice Moore had trouble communicating with Mosley at times. Mosley called in from St. Anthony’s hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries. He didn’t make an official plea, and Moore thought he was on medication,” FOX 13 says.

During the arraignment, more details about what happened on March 29, the last day the mother and son were seen alive, came to light.

“It is said that the victim’s family went to the victim’s house around 4:30 p.m. for the defendant’s birthday party,” Judge Moore said as he read the accusation out loud. “The victim’s family left around 5:15, and she and her 2-year-old son were the only ones left in the house.”

Victim Was Found with 100 Stab Wounds

Phone records showed that Jeffrey’s phone left the area around her apartment at 8:42 p.m. Taylen’s body was found in Lake Maggiore on Friday, but Mosley didn’t show up at his mother’s house until just after 9 p.m. with cuts on his arms. The criminal complaint says that he then checked himself into St. Anthony’s.

After not hearing from her daughter, Jeffrey’s mother called the manager of the apartment complex on Thursday. When maintenance came to check on her, they allegedly found her with over 100 stab wounds and evidence that Mosley killed her.

The tweet below confirms the news:

“The defendant’s bloody fingerprint was found on a cleaning bottle that was put under a bed,” Moore said. “A bloody shoe print with a Gucci logo was found on the bathroom floor where the victim was found. The victim’s brother said that the defendant was wearing a pair of Gucci slides when he came to his mother’s house.”

FOX 13 says that Mosley will be held without bond at the Pinellas County Jail once he is released from the hospital.

About a month ago, the couple had just moved into the apartment complex.

Pashun Jeffrey, Taylen’s mother, was found dead in her apartment.

The police haven’t said how the child died or if the alligator had anything to do with it. The cause of his death will be found out by the medical examiner.
