Orlando police recently detained a middle school teacher in Florida on suspicion of committing child sex crimes.

Javier Fernandez Romero-Gonzalez was accused of touching students indecently while acting in a position of authority. Romero-Gonzalez was a Spanish instructor at Orlando’s Innovation Middle School.

Teacher Arrested for Inappropriate Behavior With Students

The charges were brought to their attention in April, according to the Orlando Police Department. After several weeks of inquiry, they discovered enough evidence to detain the teacher.

According to an arrest report that Orlando was able to obtain, four female students who saw the inappropriate behavior reported it to the police. They admitted to being victims to the detectives.

On April 12, Mero-Gonzalez apparently received an administrative leave of absence.

Romero-Gonzalez allegedly touched students indecently on the hips, shoulders, and buttocks, according to WESH.

Additionally, the teacher is charged with overly embracing pupils and questionable videotaping of them.

Romero-Gonzalez was detained and later transported to the Orange County Jail under a $40,000 bond.
