Friends and Coach Remember Man Shot Near Ohio State Campus

Columbus police need your help to find a second person wanted in connection with a shooting that killed one man overnight near The Ohio State University’s campus.

The shooting happened early Friday morning, just a few yards from The Union.

Raymond Ladd, who is 26 years old, was caught by the police and is being charged with murder. Shemar Franklin, who is 25 years old, was named by police as the second suspect. He has also been charged with murder.

One man got hurt, and the other died. The guy who was killed was named by police as Deijon Bedgood, who was 25 years old.

People Liked Him a Lot

Bedgood worked as a co-manager at the Fourth Street Taproom and Kitchen. While his coworkers and friends mourn, the business is closed and will stay closed through the weekend.

Ryan Leasure, who taught Deijon Bedgood when he played basketball at Belpre High School, said, “Can’t wrap our minds around the fact that we’re pretty gutted right now.” “By a long shot, one of the most athletic people I’ve ever seen in our area. It breaks my heart to see and hear this news.”

His co-manager at Fourth Street says that the people he worked with liked him a lot. The Taproom said in an Instagram post that it will be closed until April 25 “to put the health and safety of our staff and employees first.”

The tweet below verifies the news:

People said that he had a lot of energy and a calm personality. A past athlete at Belpre High School left a mark on the school.

“By far one of the best athletes to attend our school,” Leasure said.

This weekend’s beer event was also canceled by the Fourth Street Taproom and Kitchen.
