Georgia Fugitive Shot 8 Times by Store Clerk Still Alive and Faces Criminal Charges

Police say the guy who robbed a gas station in Palm Coast, Florida early on Friday morning and then ran away from Flagler County deputies and was shot about eight times at a convenience store in Kingsland, Georgia is “still alive” and will be charged.

Flagler County officers charged Qwinntavus Kwame Jordan, 32, of Douglas, Georgia, with armed robbery after he robbed a convenience store in Palm Coast, ran away to Georgia, stole a car, crashed it into another convenience store, and was shot.

“As far as we know at this time, Jordan is still alive,” said Ava Hanner, a spokeswoman for the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. There was no more information about his health.

“Don’t Force Me to Take It Out”

Flagler sheriff’s officers say that Jordan robbed the Circle K at 6125 East State Road 100 in Palm Coast at 3:11 a.m. on Friday while he was armed.

Jordan asked for all the money from the cash register. When the clerk asked him if he was kidding, Jordan said, “Don’t make me pull it out,” pointing to his belt. Investigators say the clerk gave him $90.

According to his police report, Jordan also stole two bottles of Gatorade, a bag of Flaming Hot Cheetos, fifteen Black & Mild cigars, and two packs of Swisher Sweets cigars.

Investigators say that as Jordan was leaving, he told the clerk to turn on a gas pump and then stole $44 worth of premium gas to fill up his 2012 Ford Focus.

Jordan ran away, but officers caught up with him quickly at the intersection of State Road 100 and Old Kings Road, where he had turned around and was heading toward Interstate 95. Deputies say that Jordan then drove north on I-95 to get away.

Shoots at Officers, Hits a Car Driven by a Civilian

As he ran away from Flagler County, officers from the sheriff’s offices in St. Johns and Jacksonville joined the chase.

During the chase, it looked like Jordan shot at the officers, but he hit a car instead, police said.

“The bystander said that she was in the middle lane on I-95, between the suspect’s car and a police car, and that she heard a loud bang after the suspect’s car hit the side of her car. “After that, a bullet hole was found on the driver’s side of her car,” Jordan’s arrest report said.

Jordan wouldn’t stop running away, and his arrest record says that deputies in Nassau County decided not to chase him.

Then, a Florida Highway Patrol Agriculture Trooper said that Jordan had crossed into Georgia.

By 4 a.m., Jordan was in Kingsland, Georgia, where stop sticks had been set up at the state line. After putting out the stop sticks, police lost sight of Jordan, but they later found out that he had crashed into a ditch.

Steals a Car

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which is helping the Kingsland Police Department, Jordan stole a car from the Friendly Express at 1310 Boone Street at 4:20 a.m.

Jordan left, but for some reason, he came back and drove the car into the store’s front door. Bureau investigators said that when he went inside the shop, he found the store clerk and a customer hiding in a back room.

Jordan directed his gun at the customer and the clerk, but Jordan was shot by the clerk, who was also armed. Georgia police said that he was taken to a hospital. Investigators in Georgia said that criminal charges are being prepared against Jordan.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said Jordan had four arrest warrants in Coffee County for armed robbery, two counts of having a gun while being a convicted felon, and having a gun or knife while committing a crime.
