Grand Jury Indicts Man in Shooting Death of Migos Rapper Takeoff

A guy was charged with murder on Thursday by a grand jury in Harris County, Texas, in relation to the shooting death of Takeoff, a rapper from the group Migos, last year.

In connection with the death, Patrick Clark, 33, was detained in December.

On November 1, according to authorities, Takeoff, 28, was fatally murdered outside a private party at 810 Billiards and Bowling in Houston. At the time, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said, “There was an argument outside the bowling alley which resulted in the shooting.” Cameron Joshua, a second man, was detained and accused of carrying a weapon illegally in connection with the incident.

As an “innocent bystander” to the quarrel that came before the shooting, Takeoff was described by police.

The tweet below confirms the news:

The state charges Clark with “unlawfully, intentionally and knowingly committing the felony offense of deadly conduct by knowingly discharging a firearm at and in the direction of” Takeoff, according to the court papers.

She stated in a statement, “We would want people to remember that getting an indictment requires achieving a very, very basic level of proof. “We expect the jury will return a verdict of not guilty when we get inside a courtroom and in front of a jury, where we will be able to present our evidence and cross-examine the state’s witnesses — where the standard of proof is guilt beyond reasonable doubt.”

On a $1 million bond, Clark is still under house arrest.

Takeoff, together with his uncle Quavo and the rapper Offset, made up the trio Migos as its youngest member. At his burial service last year, musicians such as Drake and Justin Bieber recognized Takeoff as a gifted rapper and a caring friend and family member.
