Near a collision that is being looked into as a hit-and-run, a pedestrian was reportedly killed by a semi-trailer on Highway 101 near San Jose late Saturday night.
At 11:37 p.m., the California Highway Patrol got reports of a large truck striking a pedestrian close to Tully Road. Officers responded to the call and discovered a 36-year-old man dead in the northbound slow lane on Highway 101. The man’s identity has not been made public.

According to CHP public relations officer Ross Lee, the car that killed the pedestrian left the area. It’s unclear how the crash happened right now.
The collision will be handled as a hit-and-run, according to Lee.
The collision was attended to by the San Jose Fire Department as well, and just after midnight near Tully Road, the Highway 101 on-ramp was shut down.
