Isle of Palms Shooting 2 Arrested in Connection with Incident Stemming from High School 'Skip Day

In connection with a gunshot that occurred in South Carolina at a high school “senior skip day” event, authorities made two arrests.

Six persons were shot on Friday, most of them were in their mid-teens. WCBD claims that none of the injuries are life-threatening.

“Most victims range in age from 16 to 15. One victim, a woman in her mid-30s, “Reporters were informed by Chief Kevin Cornett during a news conference.

Cornett added that the Isle of Palms Police Department received notice Friday morning about a large high school event that would likely take place that evening, according to the outlet. The senior classes of several area high schools gathered for a beach party later that day following a “senior skip day.”

The tweet below confirms the news of shooting:

After a fight between a handful of partygoers broke out, police were watching the beach party. Six persons were hurt as a result of the gunfire.

One victim was in her mid-30s and the police said that her appearance at the beach had nothing to do with the high school incident. Five of the victims were of high school age.

Despite the fact that several individuals were held after the incident, only two have been found and prosecuted. Police accused a 16-year-old boy of illegally carrying a gun and possessing a stolen gun. At a public parking lot, an 18-year-old was accused of having a handgun in his hands.

Nevertheless, the police have not established which of the two suspects fired the rounds at the gathering.

Sheriff Kristin Graziano of the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office told reporters that “there were folks who were on that beach who knew what transpired.”

“Most of the people we talked to yesterday weren’t willing to cooperate. We have some, but they must come forward “Added she.

Anybody with information that might aid the investigation is urged to contact the Isle of Palms Police Department at 843-529-3750, according to the police.
