Jamie Foxx Spotted Waving on Boat Following Health Issue

After suffering a health scare in April, Jamie Foxx was spotted on a boat. On Sunday, TMZ released footage of the 55-year-old Oscar winner waving from a boat as it cruised along the Chicago River. After going silent for a while, Foxx finally addressed his fans on Instagram on May 3, writing, “Appreciate all the love!!! I am really grateful.

“Jamie is doing great,” a source close to Jamie and his camp tells PEOPLE. “He is just taking it easy. He’s not really having any visitors or anything like that yet but he’s doing really really well.” Foxx “experienced a medical complication” on April 11, his daughter Corinne said in a statement.

The Netflix film Back in Action, in which he also plays alongside Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close, had him in Atlanta. Corinne said that Foxx was “on the way to recovery” after receiving “quick action and great care.” Along with the announcement, the Foxx family thanked fans for their prayers.

Corinne, now 29, provided an update on Foxx’s status on Friday, May 12, rejecting rumors that the family was bracing for the worst. Her Instagram post boasted that the star was “out of the hospital for weeks.”
