Following the multiple injury death of a 37-year-old woman in Chorley, a man has been charged with murder.
After Lancashire Police were alerted to reports of a sudden death at an address in Congress Street at 2.30am on Friday, Fiona Robinson was located.
At the scene, 26-year-old Jason Gowen was detained and charged with murder.
On Monday, Gowen, of Congress Street in Chorley, is scheduled to appear in court at Preston Magistrates’.

After relocating from Barrow-in-Furness to Chorley in 2022, Ms. Robinson had been residing there.
Ms. Robinson’s death as a result of several injuries was confirmed by a Home Office post-mortem investigation.

The Major Investigation Team of the Lancashire Police Det Ch Insp Mark Haworth-Oates stated: “First and foremost, our sympathies are with Fiona’s loved ones, who are experiencing unspeakable pain.
“We are committed to giving them answers, and even though we have filed charges, our investigation is still ongoing.
“We’re looking for any information that could shed light on what took place.
“Perhaps you have information that you believe may be pertinent, or perhaps you were nearby on Thursday night or into the early hours of Friday and overheard something strange.
“If you know anything, please contact me.”
