The All Blacks and the Black and Tans Look to Be Confused by Joe Biden in His Address in a Bar

Joe Biden Appears to Confuse the All Blacks

Vice President Joe Biden appeared to mix up the All Blacks and the Black and Tans during a speech he gave in an Irish pub. In a compliment to his uncle, former Irish rugby player Rob Kearney, President Trump praised him for his tie and brought up their 2016 encounter at Soldier Field in Chicago versus the New Zealand squad.

He claimed, “One of these men right here was a hell of a rugby player and gave this to me. He completely annihilated the Black and Tans. British reserve forces, known as the Black and Tans, were hastily sent against rebels during the Irish War of Independence in 1920.

They were given the name “Black and Tans” because their makeshift outfits often included black and khaki clothing. The Irish rebels sang “Come Out, Ye Black and Tans” to honor the troops. Following a day of sightseeing in Northern Ireland and the Republic, Mr. Biden spoke at the Windsor Bar in Dundalk before heading to his ancestral home region in County Louth.

Speaking to a gathering in Louth, the president mentioned his plans to return to Ireland and talked about his ancestry there. He addressed the crowd, “Thank you all for the homecoming welcome. We’re sorry to break it to you, but we’ll be back. There’s no way to bar us entry.

He addressed the crowd, saying, “I’m so proud to be here, so proud to be in Louth.” He cited hope and the conviction that one can accomplish anything as two of America’s defining characteristics. He repeated, “We believe anything’s possible.” Nothing is impossible.

We may have to face some really terrible times, but no matter how bad things become, we have to keep pushing forward because the world is full of possibilities.
