It says in the post,

“The loss of assistant coach Josh Ciocco has left a void in the hearts of everyone associated with the Merrimack men’s hockey team. Josh, who was about to begin his fifth year with the Warriors, worked tirelessly to bring bright and committed student-athletes to Merrimack and worked just as hard to bring out the best in them as a coach.”

The Vernon Vipers, with whom Josh had played, have also issued a statement.

“The Vernon Vipers are devastated by the news of Josh Ciocco’s demise. Please convey our deepest sympathies to Josh’s loved ones and the entire Merrimack College community.”

It was a shared experience for them. Prior to graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in political science in 2007, Josh played for the Vernon Vipers. He participated in hockey all four years he attended UNH, and served as captain his senior year.

Josh got his MBA from UNH after playing for the Wheeling Nailers and Fresno Falcons of the ECHL for two seasons. In addition to his time spent at Merrimack, Josh has served as an assistant coach at both Brown and UAA. We are keeping Josh’s loved ones and teammates (past and present) in our prayers.
