The bodies of 118 dead dogs were found in the bed of a pickup truck over the weekend, and Juárez police are now looking into the case.
Police found the pile of dead dogs on Sunday after neighbors complained about a terrible smell coming from a truck parked at a house in the Campestre Virreyes neighborhood of eastern Juárez. The dogs were of different sizes and breeds.
The dogs were in trash bags that were piled up in the back of a Ford F-150.

A 29-year-old man was taken into custody because the police think he hurt animals. El Heraldo de Juárez said that he told investigators that he works for a vet and was taking the dogs to be cremated because he works for a vet.
The Juárez Department of Animal Welfare of the Municipal Rescue and Adoption of Pets agency, or RAMM, found three animals living in the house. They took the animals to a shelter.
The city’s ecology department and the Chihuahua Attorney General’s Office are looking into whether the dead animals, which will be thrown away at the municipal landfill, will lead to more charges and fines.
