Juvenile Arrested for Stealing 3 Cars in Less Than an Hour From Ga. Body Shop

The Troup County Sheriff’s Office said that a young person was arrested on charges linked to a string of car break-ins and thefts.

The thieves broke into and stole cars from the Pure Vision Body Shop on West Point Road in LaGrange on Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office.

On May 16, between 1 and 1:40 a.m., someone broke into a key box and stole keys to a silver Ford F-250, a grey Jeep Cherokee, and a brown Nissan Frontier, according to deputies.

The sheriff’s office says that the F-250 was found down the road from Pure Vision not long after the crime was reported.

Around 1:30 that afternoon, Sirus XM Radio told Troup County 911 that they were following the stolen Jeep near Pine Circle off of LaFayette Parkway.

When deputies got to the scene, they stopped a Jeep for speeding and found a young driver inside. The Troup County Sheriff said that the teen “ran away from the Jeep and was caught after a short foot chase.”

The child was arrested and taken to the Youth Detention Center in Columbus. He or she will be charged with theft by getting and hindering a police officer.

At this point, the brown Nissan Frontier has still not been found. The sheriff’s office says it was last seen with damage on the right rear side and a “test drive” tag from LaGrange Nissan.
