Police say that a guy was shot and killed on Sunday night at 56th Street and Park Avenue in Kansas City.
Capt. Corey Carlisle, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department, said that police were sent to 51st Street and Park Avenue just after 10:30 p.m. Sunday because gunshots were heard there. After that, the call was changed to a shooting at 56th.
He said that when the police arrived, they found an adult man laying in the street with what looked like gunshot wounds. First aid was given to the man by the police until EMS came and said the man was dead.
Carlisle said that as of Monday morning, there was no information about a suspect. Detectives and people who work at crime scenes continue to look into the case, find proof, and talk to possible witnesses.
A couple of hours later, around 12:30 a.m. Monday, police were called to the 5200 block of Walrond Avenue, which is about a mile away, because there had been another murder there. Police said that a guy was found dead in a house there with unknown injuries.
