Kids Saw House Invasion That Killed Father of Five

During a deadly home attack in Ohio, a mother and father were shot, and their children saw it happen, police in Columbus say.

Columbus police said in a news release that they got a 911 call about a shooting at a home on the north side of the city before midnight on April 30.

The release said that when police arrived, they found a guy and a woman, both 28, who had been shot. Brandon Gilliam was declared dead at the scene, and the woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said that Gilliam and the woman lived in the house with their five children, who were there when the house was broken into.

The tweet below confirms the news:

Investigators say that a suspect or suspects broke into the house and shot the couple inside. Their kids weren’t hurt, but some of them saw what was going on and helped their hurt mother call 911.

Police told WCMH that the kids had a “front-row seat” to everything.

The station said that they are now in the care of Child Protective Services.

Police didn’t say why they thought the suspects might have shot the couple, but they are looking into it.
