On Tuesday, Republican Colorado state representative Lauren Boebert announced that she had filed for div0rce from her spouse of 17 years, Jayson Boebert.
Boebert’s statement on the topic is vague, referring only to “irreconcilable differences” and rejecting any adultery on her part, but offering no other explanation for the couple’s bre@kup. When Jayson was served div0rce papers on April 25, he “was extremely angry,” according to court documents acquired by The Colorado Sun. I offered him the papers, but he refused to take them.
Process server who served Jayson said, “He started yelling and using profanities, and told me that I was trespassing, and that he was calling the Sheriff’s Office,” according to court documents acquired by the Daily Beast.
After I informed him I had to let the dogs out, he closed the door and said, “I see you left the papers on the chair outside the door.” According to the process server, Jayson was cleaning his rifle and sipping beer when he was served.
When asked by the Daily Beast how he reacted to being served, Jayson stated that he “did not know what I was being served for or if it was some crazy left wing person coming to my house again.”
The process server’s allegations that he was cleaning his gun while inebriated were also refuted. “The divorce is sad, I did not expect this, I love her with every bit of my heart, she has been my soul mate and she is the mother of my Children,” Jayson said.
“We have been through a lot together and I just want her to be happy.” He concluded: “So it’s what ever she wants.”
In a statement released to Jezebel on Wednesday afternoon, Boebert addressed the process server’s allegations against Jayson, saying, “Jayson, a man I spent half of my life with, did not sign up to be in the public limelight, and he certainly did not agree to be falsely accused of things he didn’t do.”
“The stories reported about the process server, and even Jayson running over a mailbox are a complete lie. Jayson doesn’t sit around cleaning guns, and he certainly doesn’t drink beer out of a glass, just as much as he doesn’t drink Bud Light,” Boebert continued.
“Our own home security footage shows he didn’t ‘sick [sic] dogs’ on the process server. The dogs were outside when the server pulled up, they never showed aggression toward him, nor did he appear afraid of them.”
Hre’s tweet confirms the news, so you can trust it:
I have always spoken highly of my marriage. I believe in marriage. I believe in the power our words hold.

The congressman has stated that her divorce “is a private matter, but the misrepresentations must be addressed,” and that “Jayson deserves his privacy, not slanderous stories.”
Boebert said in a statement this week that she was grateful “for our years of marriage together and for our beautiful children, all of whom deserve privacy and love as we work through this process.”
Boebert went on, “I’ve always been faithful in my marriage, and I believe passionately in marriage, which makes this declaration that much more painful.” There are fundamental philosophical divides at play here.
It’s a rather vague conventional divorce declaration, but Jayson’s reaction to service and his comments to the Daily Beast suggest that their split is anything but amicable. On April 25, Boebert filed for divorce from Jayson in county court, citing the need for financial support and joint legal and parental responsibility for the couple’s four sons.
In her memoir from last year, she talks at length about her marriage, including the time her husband, Jayson, was accused of exposing himself to two girls at a bowling alley and subsequently arrested for public indecency and obscene exposure.

Boebert stated that she was pleased with the plea bargain and that she was pleased with Jayson because he “needed the alcohol and anger management classes that came with the plea deal.”
Of course, this wasn’t the only time the pair had trouble with the law. In the same year that Boebert wrote in her biography that Jayson needed the “anger management classes,” the two of them were arrested for separate acts of alleged abuse toward each other, including the bowling alley incident.
A month after the bowling alley incident, Jayson was arrested for domestic abuse, and a few months later, Boebert was charged with third-degree assault, criminal mischief, and underage drinking.
Last year, neighbors of the couple called the police on Jayson, accusing him of threatening them and running over their mailbox while inebriated. Jayson and Boebert’s separation coincides with a particularly hectic period for their household.
Boebert reported in March that their eldest son, age 18, and his fiancée are expecting their first child. Keep in mind that Boebert is a Bible-believing congresswoman who thinks everyone else should be punished if they fail to keep the same right-wing family ideals she has failed to. I’m going to make some popcorn and watch the mayhem unfold around her, if you don’t mind.
