Police say that on Tuesday, a man from Springboro accidentally shot himself and another woman in the parking lot of a Lebanon Walmart. He is now facing a number of charges.

A police department spokeswoman said that around 1 p.m., police were sent to 1530 Walmart Drive because someone had shot someone in the parking lot.

A spokesperson said that when police arrived, they found a 22-year-old guy and a 19-year-old woman in the car. Both of them seemed to have been shot. Both were treated by the Lebanon Division of Fire-EMS at the scene and then taken to Atrium Medical Center for more care. Since then, they have been set free.

The 22-year-old man, Daniel C. Wright, was caught by Lebanon police around 7 p.m., a spokesperson said, and taken to the Warren County Jail. He is being charged with an attack by accident and not knowing how to handle guns in a car.

A spokesperson said that so far, the probe shows that Wright fired a single gunshot while in the car, hitting himself in the arm. The bullet hit the woman in the neck. It went through Wright’s arm.
