Man Arrested After Road Rage Gunshot, Crash Near Fort Worth Restaurant

On Monday night, a man was shot near Northwest Loop 820 in what Fort Worth police said was a case of road rage. The man’s car then crashed. A suspect has been caught.

At about 8:45 p.m., police went to the 6800 block of the Northwest Loop 820 service road, where they found a fight. The victim said that he and the attacker got into a fight at BoomerJack’s Grill. When the victim left the restaurant, the suspect followed him and shot at his car, the cops said.

The gunfire didn’t hit the target, but he or she did hit another car near where the service road and Navajo Trail meet. Police said that neither the person who was hit nor the driver of the other car was hurt.

Police records say that the suspect is David Sheets, 30, from Granbury. He ran away, but he was caught at a nearby spot. Sheets was taken to the Fort Worth City Jail just before midnight. He is being charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, discharging a firearm, and carrying weapons without a permit.

Police said that the event is being looked into by the Gun Violence Unit.
