Man Charged in Deadly Trotwood House Fire

In March, a house fire that killed two people was linked to multiple charges against a Clayton man.

During a traffic stop on Thursday, Trotwood police caught a man who was wanted for murder, a police department spokeswoman said. Even though that person hasn’t been named, records from the Montgomery County Jail show that 29-year-old Savon Davis was arrested Thursday afternoon by Trotwood police and booked on multiple charges, including murder.

Monday, charges of aggravated murder and aggravated arson were brought against Davis in the Western Division of the Montgomery County Municipal Court.

The tweet below confirms the news:

According to court documents, Davis killed a man named J.H. and caused a fire or blast at a house in the 5300 block of Gardendale Avenue on or around March 11.

News Center 7 said before that a man’s death in a house fire on Gardendale Avenue on March 12 led to a homicide probe.
