On Tuesday, authorities in Florida said they had arrested a guy on murder and robbery charges after discovering the dismembered body of a food delivery driver in the trash outside of his home. On April 19, police claimed the victim, a delivery driver for Uber Eats and DoorDash, contacted his wife to let her know he had just one more delivery to make before heading home.

The wife tried texting him again after she hadn’t heard from him in a while, but she got no reply. When his wife continued to text him and receive no response, she eventually reported him missing. Two days later, detectives went to the last known delivery address and were given footage of the victim by the suspect’s roommate.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco said, “You can actually see the victim walking up to the house to deliver food, but the video cuts off at that point,”  This occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on April 19. According to Nocco, surveillance footage showed that the suspect and another individual removed multiple garbage cans the following day.

Nocco claims that when detectives looked through the trash, they discovered human bones. Oscar Solis was arrested in February for failing to register as a criminal with the county and for violating parole after he had been released from his Indiana parole and relocated to Florida in January.

After officers located the victim’s wedding ring and car keys in Solis’ home on Monday night, they arrested him for “felony murder in conjunction with the robbery.” Solis is 30 years old. The victim’s vehicle was discovered a quarter of a mile from the residence, the police added.

CBS News has obtained an affidavit from the police that said they discovered “apparent blood-soaked rags,” a red Door Dash bag, and paper towels in the trunk of the automobile. A time card punch out receipt with Solis’ name was also discovered in the trash bag, the affidavit said, Solis had told investigators he worked security at a gentleman’s club.

The roommate, according to the authorities, was not there at the time of the murder. Who else helped take out the trash was not immediately apparent. The house is leased by the suspect and his father, according to the police, but the suspect’s father walked out when Solis relocated from Indiana.

According to the authorities, both the father and the roommate have been helpful during the inquiry. According to Nocco, Solis is a member of the MS-13 gang and has spent time for burglary and violence totaling four years. Nocco claimed that while he was incarcerated, the man stabbed another inmate. According to Nocco, there appears to be no connection between Solis and the victim.

“This was a horrific crime of passion,” he said. “This was demonic. What he did was demonic.” A lady and a man were allegedly observed leaving the residence just before the victim arrived, and the police have released images of them. According to the police, the two people are “not considered missing, but may have information to provide in this case.”
