Officials in Kentucky say a man was k!lled after he was sh*t while tending to his lawn. At around 2:00 p.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a report of gunfire on Olive Street. Officers came to find a man in his twenties with multiple gunshot wounds.
As medics were on their way, officials began performing CPR on the victim. According to the police, he was taken to the hospital but later died there. WAVE talked to Brian Horton, the victim’s uncle and a resident of the home at the time of the incident.
“I was just upstairs and I was in the kitchen, the big guy came running in saying, ‘He just got shot,’” the victim’s uncle Brian Horton said. Councilwoman Tammy Hawkins responded quickly after being alerted that a sh*oting had occurred in her area.

It’s not acceptable, Hawkins said. “I feel so bad for people between the ages of 14 and 30,” she said. The forensics team from the police department discovered shell casings in the roadway and people’s yards as evidence of the tragic sh*t.
According to residents of the area, this was unexpected because they have a close-knit community. “That’s scary to know the newest homicide is somebody that you know,” Sydawn Hines-Henderson, who lives nearby, said.

“This is someone whose face you recognize, someone you have spoken to, or offered a popsicle. So, at any moment you are walking around out here and your anxiety is on 10.” The investigation by police is still ongoing. They claimed they have no leads at the moment.
Hawkins expressed her desire for further witnesses to come forward. “I definitely don’t want neighbors to overlook this because this could be your family member,” Hawkins said. “Don’t wait until tragedy hits your family. I recommend if anybody knows anything, speak up because this could be your brother, your uncle, or your son.”
