Man Sentenced to Over 10 Years for R*ping 8-year-old Girl

In 2018, a 54-year-old man from Albert Lea was found guilty of raping an 8-year-old girl more than once. He was sentenced to 130 months in prison by the Mower County District Court.

As part of a deal, Jeffrey Mitchell Weir pleaded guilty to felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under 16 with whom he had a significant relationship. Two felony first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges were dropped as part of the deal.

District Judge Jeffrey Kritzer gave Weir credit for 101 days of time he had already spent in jail.

In the criminal complaint, it says:

In 2018, when the girl was between 8 and 9 years old, Weir raped her at least three times in an Austin home.

In February 2019, the girl and her mother told an Austin Police Department officer about the abuse.

Weir is a registered predatory offender because he was found guilty of felony charges of having child pornography in Wisconsin in 2003 and of third-degree sexual assault in 1998.

He told the police there was no sexual abuse and that he had to punish the girl because she lied a lot.
