Man Stabbed 27 Times Found Dead in Apartment Days Later

Officials in Colorado told news outlets that a 22-year-old woman was taken into custody on suspicion that she stabbed a man 27 times.

The Denver Police Department said that on March 28, officers went to an apartment complex in the city where they found the body of 54-year-old Patrick Lane.

The Denver Post says that one of Lane’s friends found his body and called the police. When they got to the apartment, they found blood “around the body and in the kitchen,” according to reports.

The Denver police were contacted by McClatchy News on April 3 and a reply is still pending.

The Denver Post says that a 22-year-old woman who was seen on security footage wearing “blood-stained clothing” has been arrested as part of an investigation into first-degree murder.

The arrest affidavit that KMGH got says that Lane was stabbed 27 times in the back of his head, the left side of his neck, his arm, his torso, and his upper leg.

KDVR says that police think the man had been dead for days before he was found.

On March 31, police got an anonymous tip that helped them figure out who the suspect was. KMGH says that McClatchy News won’t name the suspect because she hasn’t been officially charged yet.

KMGH says that when the police got the tip, they found that the woman, who was said to have two outstanding arrest warrants, was already in custody.

KDVR says that the official charges in Lane’s death will be made by the district attorney’s office in Denver.
