Authorities say a convicted killer could turn 70 while he or she is in jail.
The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said that Tristan Majeed of Medford was given a 20-year sentence for killing a man in Pemberton Township by shooting him outside his home in January 2020.
A man from Rhode Island is under arrest after being accused of stabbing to death a man from Mount Laurel at a motel.
In a statement, the prosecutor’s office said that Majeed, who is 53 years old, must spend 17 years before he can be released on parole.
The statement said that Majeed accepted earlier this year that he was guilty of aggravated manslaughter in the death of Kenneth Ryan, who was 64 years old.
A Fight Over Money Led to a Fatal Shooting
Ryan died two days after being shot on the Browns Mills part of the Apache Trail. About five months later, Mays was put in jail.
The prosecutor’s office said that the killing happened because of a fight over money.
Judge Mark Tarantino of Mount Holly’s Superior Court gave Majeed his sentence on Friday.
