Authorities in Florida Claim They Discovered the Body of a Missing Toddler in an Alligator’s Mouth

Missing 2-year-old Florida Boy Was Found Dead

Authorities say they found the body of a missing 2-year-old boy in St. Petersburg, Florida, in the mouth of an alligator on Friday.

Police Chief Anthony Holloway of St. Petersburg, Florida, announced at a press conference on Friday that Taylen Mosley had been reported missing after his mother, Pashun Jeffery, 20, was discovered dead in her residence on Thursday afternoon from numerous stab wounds.

Thomas Mosley, Taylen’s father, has been arrested and charged with two charges of first-degree murder, according to the St. Petersburg police. A few kilometers from Jeffery’s condo, in Dell Homes Park, police observed an alligator with something in its mouth.

According to Holloway, the crocodile dropped the item after being shot once. When police finally got to the object, they discovered Taylen’s body was unharmed. “We didn’t want to find him this way, but at least we can bring some closure to that family now,” Holloway said.

Holloway said Thomas went to the hospital on Friday after suffering injuries to his wrists and arms. Online inmate records reveal that he was eventually put into the Pinellas County jail.

On Saturday, it was unclear if Thomas had retained legal counsel in response to his refusal to speak with officials and request for one. Officials have not yet revealed Taylen’s cause of death or how he came to be at the park, citing an ongoing investigation.
