After getting shot in the head during a probable act of road rage on Interstate 85, a woman is recuperating.
A woman was shot at roughly 5:30 p.m. on Sunday while she, her husband, and two children were driving northbound on I-85 close to the Georgia state line, according to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina. She is known as Heather Stevanus, according to a GoFundMe account created by the victim’s friends.
Her family was shot in what the sheriff’s office refers to as a “potential road rage” incident as they were traveling home from a Monster Jam event in Greenville, South Carolina.
The owner of a BMW allegedly opened fire on the family’s vehicle, striking Heather in the head and just missing her two children in the rear, according to Lucy Haskill, who created one of the GoFundMe fundraisers.
Although Heather was injured, it is unknown how severe those injuries are right now. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking any information from the public regarding the shooting.
