A motorcycle rider was killed Sunday afternoon in Fresno County when he hit an SUV.
Mike Salas, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol, said that the crash happened at 2:30 p.m. near Prather at the intersection of Highway 168 and Gooseberry Lane.
The 59-year-old Ducati sports bike rider from Fresno was going west on Highway 168, west of Gooseberry Road, when he entered a curve in the road, lost control, and slid into the eastbound lane. Salas said that the motorcycle crashed into a Toyota 4Runner.
On the spot, the motorcyclist was said to be dead. The driver of the Toyota was not hurt.
Alcohol and drugs are not thought to have played a role in the accident.
