Peter Murrell, Nicola Sturgeon’s husband and the former head of the Scottish National Party (SNP), has been arrested as part of a probe into the party’s finances.
Police Scotland said that they are holding a 58-year-old man in custody as part of an investigation into how the party got its money.
Officers are also looking for Mr. Murrell at his home and at the SNP’s headquarters in Edinburgh. The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service will get a report.
A spokesman for the police said: “Detectives from Police Scotland have taken the man into custody and are questioning him.”
