North Wilkesboro Man Arrested After Saturday Night Shooting Leaves Two Injured

The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office reported that two persons were hurt in the shooting on Saturday night, and a man from North Wilkesboro was also detained.

Watauga County Communications received numerous 911 calls on April 29 at 9:11 p.m. reporting a dispute and two people being shot at a sizable gathering at 374 Will Cook Road.

The shooter allegedly left the area in a dark pickup truck, according to callers.

According to WCSO, officers protected the area as Watauga Medics and the Boone Fire Department attended to the injured people and transported them to the Watauga Medical Center.

The tweet below confirms the news:

Watauga Deputies, Boone Police, and NCSHP started looking for the black GMC Pickup truck described by witnesses at the gathering as the inquiry went on.

According to WCSO, officers were able to call the suspect after learning his name and cell phone number throughout the inquiry. They started a conversation with him that lasted almost three hours. Officers and the suspect reached an understanding, and the subject was taken into custody without a hitch.

In North Wilkesboro, Stephen P. Nobles, 27, was detained and charged on two charges of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to murder or seriously injure.

The assault’s two victims were both treated at Watauga Medical Center before being released.

In a release, WCSO expressed gratitude to all the agencies involved in the incident and wished the victims of this regrettable act of violence a swift recovery.
