One Person Was Killed In A Fiery Big Rig Accident On The Loop 410 Ramp To I-35

On Thursday afternoon, there was a fiery collision involving a large truck on the ramp leading from southbound Loop 410 to southbound Interstate 35. The collision resulted in the death of one individual.

The driver of the 18-wheeler reportedly lost control of the rig at 12:30 p.m. while he was attempting to merge onto Interstate 35, according to a preliminary report from the San Antonio police department.

After colliding with the concrete wall, the large rig, which was transporting spools of metal cable, rolled up onto the surface of the wall. It rode the wall for approximately 350 feet before landing on the passenger side of its vehicle. It caught fire quite rapidly and consumed everything in its path.

According to the police, the cab of the truck collapsed as a result of the fire, and the truck rolled onto its cab after the collapse.

Two officers from the San Antonio Police Department witnessed the collision, and together with many other witnesses, they assisted the driver in escaping the vehicle and attempted to put out the fire. He has some rather minor injuries.

They were unable to get the passenger from the vehicle, and the individual was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The passenger is someone the police have not been able to identify.
