Just before six o’clock, it occurred on the 6700 block of Torresdale Avenue in the Tacony neighborhood of the city.
A 44-year-old guy and a 42-year-old man were reportedly located at the scene with gunshot wounds.
After receiving one headshot, the 44-year-old was declared dead on the spot. After receiving a single shot to the abdomen, the 42-year-old was quickly declared dead.
A second victim, a 20-year-old man, was shot as well and sent to Jefferson-Torrsedale Hospital where his condition was listed as stable.
At the site, a private car is being detained.
Shooting leaves 2 dead
Action News spoke with local neighbors who expressed gratitude and astonishment that fewer individuals were hurt.
Nelson Rodriguez from Tacony reported, “We could hear mothers crying, saying, ‘Get the children, get the children!'” “This place is awful.”
The shooting scene, which was coated with at least 19 evidence markers, happened in broad daylight.
A lot of rounds were fired, as evidenced by bullet holes in the nearby walls and truck sides.
We have at least 15 casings out here at 5 o’clock, which is concerning, said Philadelphia police Inspector Francis Bachmayer.
According to officials, police are questioning two people who are being held in custody.
The circumstances behind this shooting are yet unknown.
“That’s always the big mystery. We never know why they’re getting killed,” said Rodriguez. “I can only pray for them.”
The names of the victims have not been made public by the authorities.
