A student at Ames High School has been charged with two charges because he is said to have brought a stolen, loaded handgun to school.
A news statement from the Ames Police Department says that officers went to the high school just before 2:50 p.m. on Friday to investigate a report that a loaded gun had been found there.
The weapon was found in a student’s backpack by school officials. That student was named as Tae-Shyne M. Johnson, who is 18 years old.
Johnson was taken into custody and is being charged with having a gun on school grounds and selling a stolen gun.
