The guy who was shot and killed in Riviera Beach on Wednesday night is being looked into by the police.
At about 9:30 p.m., officers got a ShotSpotter alert from the 400 block of President Barack Obama Highway, which is near the border with West Palm Beach. When they got there, they found a guy who had been shot and was dead.
Police didn’t say the name of the dead man because his family asked for privacy under a 2018 change to the state law that lets crime victims or their families keep their names out of public reports.
A police spokesman said that the shooting was an isolated event and that the public was not in danger.
Investigators are looking for help from anyone who knows anything about what happened.
