Rapper MoneySign Suede Dies in California Jail Stabbing

Rapper MoneySign Suede died after being stabbed in a California prison shower, according to officials and his lawyer.

A statement from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation says that Jaime Brugada Valdez, 22, of Huntington Park, was found in the shower area of the Correctional Training Facility in Soledad just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

Even though people tried to save his life, he died at a jail hospital.

The tweet below confirms the news:

The agency didn’t say how he was hurt, but they did say that his death was being looked into as murder.

“They said it was a stabbing to the neck,” Nicholas Rosenberg, Valdez’s lawyer, told the Los Angeles Times.

The Times said that Suede signed with Atlantic Records in 2021 and released “Parkside Baby” last September.

More than 4,000 people with low and middle levels of security are locked up in the Monterey County prison.

Valdez was sent there after being sentenced to two years and eight months in prison for being a convicted thief in possession of a gun in Riverside County last December.
