Ray Liotta's Death Cause Confirmed One Year After His Death

A year after his sudden death in the Dominican Republic, the cause of Ray Liotta’s death has been found.

TMZ says that the “Goodfellas” star died from problems with his heart and lungs.

Documents that the outlet got show that the exact reasons are pulmonary edema, or fluid in the lungs, respiratory insufficiency, and acute heart failure.

Atherosclerosis, which is a thickening of the arteries caused by a buildup of plaque in the inner walls, was also named as a root cause by medical experts.

In May 2022, while shooting “Dangerous Waters” on the island nation, Liotta died in his sleep. He was 67.

The “Field of Dreams” actor was left by his 24-year-old daughter Karsen and his fiancée Jacy Nittolo, who was with him when he died.

The tweet below confirms the news of  Liotta’s cause of death:

Nittolo began her Instagram ode to her late love by saying, “My life over the past few years has been nothing but truly magical.” She did this soon after he died.

“Ray and I have a deep love for each other that I will always treasure. We laughed every day and were never apart. The way they got along was crazy in the best way. I loved him more than anything, and I couldn’t get enough of him. The kind of true love that everyone hopes to find.”

She went on, “He was the most beautiful person I’ve ever met, inside and out, and even that’s not enough.”

A few days before the “Shades of Blue” star’s sudden death, the couple was seen holding hands in California.

As they left the Italian restaurant Spruzzo, they seemed to be in a good mood.

In February 2023, Liotta was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after he died. His daughter was there to remember the “one-of-a-kind” actor.

“I’m so happy to accept this award on my dad’s behalf. Karsen said at the event, “I couldn’t be more proud of him.” “He was a one-of-a-kind character and the best friend, brother, and father that anyone could have asked for. I got lucky with you.”

She went on, “You’re lucky to have Ray in your life. I love you so much. Thank you for the work you did and the mark you made on me and everyone who loves you.”

“Everyone deserves to have a Ray in their life.”
