Remains of Baby Girl Found in Rochester Recycling Plant Prompt Investigation

The remains of a baby girl were found in Rochester, Massachusetts, on Thursday. The state is asking for help to find out who the baby was.

The parts were found at a recycling center in the area, according to the Cape and Islands District Attorney Robert Galibois and the Massachusetts State Police. MSP says the baby was found in a trash pile from Martha’s Vineyard that was brought to Rochester to be thrown away.

Officials think that the baby’s mother might live on Martha’s Vineyard, have recently been there, or have some other link to the island.

The tweet below confirms the news:

The parts are being looked at right now by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Anyone with knowledge that could help investigators should call 508-790-5799 and ask for Massachusetts State Trooper Dustin Shaw.
