One person was shot and killed in Columbia, South Carolina, on Friday night. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is looking into what happened.
Around 9 p.m., shots were heard on the 1700 block of Leesburg Road in the Capitol View area. Deputies went there to check it out.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said that when they got there, they found a “man who had been shot in the lower body.”
Deputies say that the man was taken to a hospital, where he died.

The person who died hasn’t been named yet. On Saturday morning, someone asked the Richland County Coroner’s Office for more information, but they didn’t answer.
