North Richland Hills police said in a news statement that a Richland High School student was taken into custody after he threatened a teacher with a knife on Friday morning.
Officials said that neither the teacher nor the kid was hurt and that the teacher was able to calm things down. Police say that the event happened before school started and that no other kids were in the room at the time.
The student was arrested and will be charged. Authorities said that because the student is a minor, their name, age, and charges will not be made public.
Richland High School is in North Richland Hills and is part of the Birdville Independent School District.
District officials wrote a note about the event and put it on the home page of Richland High School.
“BISD wants to remind our students and staff that we take all threats seriously, work with local law enforcement, and follow District Policy when it comes to discipline,” officials said.
The cops say that this was an isolated case.
