The Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro’s grandson Leandro De Niro Rodriguez has died, his mother said on social media.

He was 19.

Robert De Niro’s daughter, actress Drena De Niro, wrote about her son’s death in an Instagram post on Sunday.

“You have been my joy, my heart, and all that was ever pure and real in my life,” part of the comment said. “I don’t know how to live without you, but I’ll try to keep going and share the love and light that you gave me by letting me be your mom. You were so loved and respected, and I wish that love alone could have saved you.”

She tagged the artist Carlos Rodriguez, who goes by the name Carlos Mare and is her son’s father, in the post.

She wrote, “Rest in peace and eternal paradise, my sweet boy.”

Mare wrote in a message on the post, “Words aren’t enough to describe the joy he brought us or the loss we now feel with our families and friends.” “He is a Godschild now.”

No one said what killed the person.

Drena De Niro said in a statement on Monday, “It is with great shock and sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved son Leo.” “We’re grateful for all the love and support, but we’d like to be left alone for a while so we can deal with our grief.”

Robert De Niro told CNN in a statement, “I’m very sad about the death of my beloved grandson Leo.” “We’re very grateful to everyone for their thoughts. We ask that you give us space to mourn the death of Leo.”

Also an actor was Leandro De Niro Rodriguez. In the 2018 movie “A Star Is Born,” which starred Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, he was in it with his mother. IMDb says that he has also acted in “The Collection” in 2005 and “Cabaret Maxime” in 2018.
