Rosenwald High School Student Charged With Firearms on Campus

On Wednesday, another Bay County kid was charged with bringing a gun to school.

This is the second time in about a week that a neighborhood student has been caught with a gun at school.

A press statement from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office says that a 16-year-old student at Rosenwald High School was arrested on Wednesday after a gun was found in their backpack by the school resource deputy and administrators. Administrators found out about the gun because another student saw it in the student’s backpack.

Another student was arrested. A Rutherford student was accused of bringing a gun to school and was taken.

The Kid Was Taken Into Custody

The kid was taken into custody and charged with having a gun at school. The report says that the investigation is still going on and that “additional charges are possible.”

Seven days ago, a 17-year-old Rutherford High School student was arrested for bringing a gun to school. Now, a Rosenwald High student has also been arrested.

In an email, Bay District Schools said that the most recent arrest involved a gun. It also warned parents and guardians to “diligently” check their children’s backpacks, cars, and rooms to help keep schools safe.

The tweet below confirms the news:

“We know that all of our parents are very worried about this news, and we want everyone in our community to know that we care about our student’s safety,” the statement says. “This was a very bad crime, and there is no place for weapons in our schools.”
