The 35-year-old male was detained by California Highway Patrol on Wednesday for a number of felony assault and weapons charges, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
He did not stir or react when deputies announced that food was being served later in the afternoon. When deputies arrived, they found him to be “medically unresponsive.”

Up until the Sacramento City Fire Department came, deputies and prison medical professionals tried to save his life, but firemen finally declared him dead.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will ascertain the cause of death and convey its findings in accordance with the law throughout this ongoing inquiry.
