Son Murders 72-Year-Old Mother with Fentanyl-Laced Iced Tea in Shed

Apparently drugged and shot by her son, a 72-year-old woman was discovered dead inside a locked shed in Philadelphia, according to Pennsylvania investigators.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office announced on Monday, April 10, that Sean Rivera, 28, had been charged in connection with the passing of his mother, Carol Clark. Criminal homicide and kidnapping with intent to cause harm or fear are among Rivera’s charges.

According to prosecutors, the investigation started on Sunday when Rivera informed his brother that their mother had passed away but would not reveal her location. The Falls Township Police Department requested assistance from the public in finding Clark.

Guns, a padlock, and padlock packaging were discovered by detectives who investigated the residence where Rivera and Clark resided, according to the authorities. Moreover, bolt cutters were discovered in Clark’s car.

“The investigation concluded that Rivera diluted fentanyl in his mother’s iced tea sometime Saturday night,” the district attorney said. “With his mother in a conscious but lethargic state, he placed her in her vehicle and drove her to the shed in … Philadelphia sometime between 2 and 3 a.m. Sunday.”

The tweet below confirms the news:

Prosecutors claim that Rivera used bolt cutters to remove the padlocks from the shed before putting his mother inside. The district attorney claims that he shot her many times and then imprisoned her in the shed.

According to Fernando Garcia, a neighboring homeowner, “four to six gunshots went off.”

Police reported that Clark’s body was discovered in the shed early on Monday. It is unknown why the victim was killed.

On Monday, the district attorney filed criminal homicide, kidnapping to further a felony, kidnapping to cause fear or harm, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, false imprisonment, unlawful restraint, and reckless endangerment of another person charges against Rivera.

WCAU announced In the past, Clark oversaw a youth after-school program.

“It’s hard to believe. It’s quite a shock to all of us,” Amanda Slocum told WCAU. “She’s always looked out for the community with the kids and we always looked to her as someone we could go to and talk to when we were growing up.”

Around 30 miles northeast of Philadelphia’s Core City sits Falls Township.
