On Wednesday, bullets were fired inside a Walmart in Florida City, as recently captured on surveillance camera. The fatal shooting occurred at the 33501 South Dixie Highway location of the chain at around 3 p.m., and authorities believe it started with an argument. Both Nathaniel Baez, 23, and the 72-year-old guy who was shot in the foot, were murdered.
A group of people are seen congregating in an aisle close to the cash registers when a quarrel breaks out and a man starts firing. Homestead resident Steve Lestin, 25, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder. Lestin appeared in bond court in Miami-Dade County on Thursday and has a spotless record.
A police report states that Lestin admitted to shooting the suspect. They also filed misdemeanor battery charges against 20-year-old Roberto Acevedo, who, according to their sources, worked at Walmart, and 21-year-old Jimari Hodge. They’re both natives of Florida City.

Gunfire erupted after a dispute between Acevedo, Lestin, and Hodge, according to witnesses. The incident caused widespread panic and mayhem throughout the store. Walmart has been silent over their employee’s arrest. A Walmart representative said in part the following in a statement provided to Local 10 News:
We are sorry for the tragedy that occurred at our Florida City location on Wednesday, and our prayers are with the victim’s family and friends. One employee has been taken off of duty. Throughout the duration of the investigation, we will maintain close cooperation with local authorities.
