On Sunday, police said they were contacted by the person they were seeking in connection with the de@th of 29-year-old Patrice Wilson. Saturday afternoon, in the 4200 block of St. Antoine St., Wilson was abducted from outside the Detroit Medical Center, her body was later discovered in the vehicle outside of a Novi residence.

Detroit Police Chief James White said that on Sunday, Jamere Miller, 36, turned himself in after he and his lawyer negotiated his surrender. At a press conference on Monday, White claimed that the DPD had launched a wide-ranging search for Miller before he decided to surrender.

However, his capture wasn’t made public knowledge until Monday afternoon. White stated the police have reason to think Miller and Wilson dated in the past and recently split up. White has stated that “domestic violence” remains a serious issue in the local area.

Wilson was trying to get into her 2020 Lincoln Nautilus when Miller allegedly kidnapped her at gunpoint at 7:40 a.m. on Saturday. Miller wore a wig and allegedly forced Wilson into a car before getting in himself to hide his identity.

He then drove away in Wilson’s car, which was later located at a Novi apartment. Miller is presumed innocent pending official charges being filed against him. Miller has a long criminal past that includes charges of domestic abuse, White said at a press conference on Monday.

“It’s a tragedy that someone like Ms. Wilson would be taken away from this world,” White said. ”So young and so tragically in this horrific way. She was young and she had her whole life ahead of her.”
