Suspect Nabbed in German Gym Attack That Wounded 4

Four people were badly hurt in a stabbing attack at a gym in the city of Duisburg in western Germany last week. On Sunday, authorities said they had caught a suspect in the case.

German news agency dpa reported that the man, a Syrian citizen who was 26 years old, was caught just after midnight, as said by prosecutor Jill Mc Culler. He was supposed to go before a judge on Monday to find out if he can be kept in jail while charges are being looked into.

No more information was available right away.

The tweet below confirms the news:

Police released pictures of a guy they were looking for in connection with the attack on Friday. They got the pictures from a surveillance camera near the John Reed Fitness studio, where the attack happened late Tuesday night. The government gave a $2,200 reward for information that led to his arrest.

Officials say that the attacker seemed to be going after a 21-year-old man who was hurt the most. Men ages 24 and 32 were the other three people who were killed.
