In California, a man’s hand was chopped off by an att@cker with a sword on Sunday, according to the police. but police initially dismissed the sighting as a stage prop. Then they found out that someone had a severed hand and was receiving medical attention.
Officer Ryan Railsback, a spokesman for the Riverside police, told the Guardian that the hospitalized guy said he was att@cked with a sword on Saturday night.
It appears that the victim and assailant were both homeless and may have known one another, according to investigators with the robbery-homicide unit in Riverside, a city roughly 50 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
According to Railsback, the victim is a 60-year-old man who presented himself to a nearby hospital on Saturday complaining of a missing hand. An overturned shopping cart and a severed hand were reported to authorities later that evening in a downtown area.

According to authorities, the victim has a good chance of making it. The att@cker has not yet been apprehended. According to a GoFundMe page put up for the Riverside attack victim’s medical expenses, he is well-known and liked by many who live and work in the downtown area.
“We fear he will not have a safe and clean place to recover after being released,” the page reads. Concerns about violence against homeless persons in U.S. cities have been rising, and it is unclear what the relationship between the victim and the offender was.
