The victims of a shooting that took place in Cameron on Saturday were two police officers and a suspect.
The Division of Criminal Investigation of the State Department of Justice reports that:
At the site, two police officers were killed: one from Cameron and one from Chetek. After being transported to a local hospital, the suspect eventually passed away.
The traffic stop was made by a Chetek officer at about 3:38 on Saturday.

Gunfire was exchanged during the traffic stop. The policemen who were involved in the incident were shot and killed.
The public is no longer in danger.
The inquiry is being conducted by the Division of Criminal Investigation. The deceased’s names have not been made public.
The inquiry is being supported by the Barron County Sheriff’s Office, Rusk County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Natural Resources, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Wisconsin State Crime Lab.
The reports will be sent to the Barron County district attorney’s office when the inquiry is finished.
