In a shocking incident that has left the sports world stunned, renowned MMA fighter Song Yadong, along with his friend Nan Lin, faced a harrowing encounter at a gas station in Vallejo, California. The two were robbed at gunpoint in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The Robbery
As Lin stepped out of the gas station after purchasing a bottle of water, he was met with a terrifying sight – a masked man pointing a gun at his face. The armed robber quickly relieved Lin of his chain, ring, wallet, and car keys.
Yadong, who was taking a break inside the car, was jolted awake by the commotion. He found himself facing at least two of the assailants, one of whom had a gun aimed at his head.

Choosing Safety Over Confrontation: Realizing the danger of the situation, Yadong made a wise decision not to resist. He surrendered his necklace, wallet, and phone, understanding the grave risk of confronting someone with a firearm. In his own words, “If he moves his finger, you’re done. No chance to be the world champion.”
Failed Attempt to Seek Help
Unfortunately, Lin’s attempt to seek assistance from the gas station staff proved futile, as he was unable to convince them to call 911. Frustrated and distressed, Lin lashed out and damaged a window with a golf club from the car’s trunk.
Challenges in Gathering Evidence: Despite the severity of the incident, the gas station’s surveillance video had already been deleted, hindering the investigation process.
This shocking incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers faced by individuals, even prominent athletes, in our communities. Authorities are actively working to apprehend the perpetrators and provide support to the victims.
As the news continues to unfold, the MMA community and fans worldwide stand in solidarity with Song Yadong and Nan Lin, hoping for their safety and a swift resolution to this distressing event.
