Video Shows 120-mph Driver Ramming Into Traffic Stop

In a scary video, a police officer in Virginia jumps out of the way at the last second to avoid being hit by a fast car that has lost control and is spinning across a highway.

Fairfax County Police released a video from a dashcam that showed a patrol officer talking to a driver through the window at a traffic stop on May 1 at 11:38 a.m., when a black car going the opposite way on Fairfax County Parkway lost control and crashed.

The car, a 2018 BMW M3, went through the grass center and backtracked across two lanes before hitting the stopped car.

As the cop moved out of the way, it looked like the spinning car hit his right leg.

The BMW was driven by a 17-year-old going “well over 120 mph,” according to Fairfax Police Chief Kevin Davis, who spoke to NBC Washington.

The driver of the car that was hit by the BMW that was out of control was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. Police said that the cop, whose name was not given, had minor injuries.

Davis said at a news briefing, “It’s just a miracle.”

On the video, you can see the cop jump over the guardrail and gather himself before calling for help on the radio.

Davis said at the news conference, “It’s quite a story for him to tell in the end.” “But right now, all he cares about is being alive.”

Police say that the teen driving the BMW M3 and two other teens in the car were hurt, but not badly. The 17-year-old driver was charged with driving in a dangerous way.
