A Wanted Las Vegas Woman Was Captured After Police Read Her Comments on a News Article About Her Case

A Las Vegas, Nevada, woman with seven prior DUI offenses and an outstanding warrant for her arr*st after she was accused of severing her ankle monitor was re-arr*sted after she commented on a news piece on Facebook.

The next day, when the Traffic Bureau of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department posted asking for the public’s assistance in identifying her and claiming that she had cut off her ankle monitor, 36-year-old Marion Reyes turned herself in.

I never shave it!! When I turned myself in, the officer abruptly ended the call. Reyes wrote, “They kept releasing me,” in response to a News 8 Facebook post asking for the public’s assistance in locating her.

The Traffic Bureau responded, “Then why not turn yourself in now? Let’s get this sorted out tonight.” According to the Bureau, Reyes met with an intervention officer on Thursday night and turned himself in the next day. According to News 8, Reyes was sentenced to two days in jail last week for missing a court date while participating in a felony DUI program.

After Reyes’s seventh DUI arr*st since 2007, she entered into a plea bargain that reduced her previous three DUI counts to a single count and allowed her to participate in a rehabilitation program. Reyes risks incarceration if she is convicted of driving under the influence again.

Reyes’ six months of house detention includes fitting her automobile with an electronic monitoring system. She has a history of DUI arr*sts dating back to April 2007 and September 2010, as well as April 2019, February 2020, July 2020, and August 2022. There were convictions in at least two of the DUI cases.
